ISHLT and ISHLT Foundation Fund Research with Grants29 January 2024
ISHLT announced more than $400,000 USD in funding for research designed to improve care for patients with advanced heart and lung disease. The grants were funded by the ISHLT Foundation. These grants are the second of two 2023 ISHLT grant cycles.

ISHLT Supports Coverage of dd-CfDNA for Allograft Assessment12 December 2023
ISHLT is a non-profit, professional, multidisciplinary organization committed to improving the care of patients by promoting research, education, and advocacy. As such, we are writing to express our support for molecular testing of donor derived cell-free DNA (dd-cfDNA) for the assessment of allograft injury, and to request that all commercial insurance plans include coverage for this clinical tool.

ISHLT Elects New Board Members and Professional Community Leaders1 December 2023
The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) has announced the results of the election for the 2024 Board of Directors as well as leadership positions in the Professional Communities. The Society will welcome four new members to the Board of Directors and 16 leaders across ISHLT’s professional specialty communities to serve as representatives to the 4 ISHLT Interdisciplinary Network Steering Committees and the Early Career & Trainee Committee. Terms begin 1 May, 2024, immediately following the ISHLT 44th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions.

ISHLT Supports Research Funding for Advanced Heart and Lung Disease: Applications Open Now7 November 2023
The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) is now accepting applications for three research grants to be awarded during the first 2024 grant cycle, which concludes with the announcement of winners at the ISHLT Annual Meeting in April 2024. Applications for these grants will be accepted through 17 January, 2024.

The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) has opened abstract submissions for its 44th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions in Prague, Czech Republic on 10-13 April, 2024. ISHLT2024 will feature educational content spanning the breadth of clinical practice and research concerning heart and lung transplantation, advanced heart and lung disease, mechanical circulatory support, and pulmonary vascular disease.

JHLT Leads Transplantation in Impact Factor7 July 2023
For the ninth year in a row, The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation’s Impact Factor earned the publication the number one ranking in the transplantation category. JHLT ranks 7th in Surgery and 8th in Respiratory, and came in 19th in the highly competitive Cardiac & Cardiovascular Systems category.

Michelle Kittleson Named JHLT Interim Editor-in-Chief as Daniel Goldstein Steps Down Due to Health6 July 2023
Daniel R. Goldstein, MD will step down as Editor-in-Chief of The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation (JHLT), due to health reasons. He has served as JHLT EIC since 2021. The transition is effective 1 July 2023. JHLT is the official peer-reviewed journal of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation.

ISHLT 2023 Annual Meeting Awards Showcase Advances in Treatment of Advanced Heart and Lung Disease2 June 2023
The International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation 43rd Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions included more than 1,250 presentations on improving outcomes for patients with advanced heart and lung disease from investigators from around the world. The Society recognized selected 14 presentations for excellence within each of the ten professional communities that make up ISHLT’s multidisciplinary membership, as well as specific awards to recognize excellence from early career investigators.
