No. Your abstract can be submitted only once. Submitting the same abstract to different categories or splitting one study into multiple abstracts is not allowed. If the abstracts are too similar to be considered separate studies or if the same abstract is submitted to multiple categories, all versions may be rejected.

The deadline for abstract submission is 15 October, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. ET / 16 October, 2024 at 3:59 UTC.

The character limit for an abstract is 2,140 characters (spaces are ignored). This count includes characters in the Abstract Title, Abstract Body, Table(s), and Image(s). Author names and institutions are not counted. A table or image will remove 320 characters from the character limit. (Note: the amount of data in the table does not make a difference to the character count.)

There is a limit of 50 authors listed on an abstract. Co-authors included should be those who contribute significantly to the intellectual content of the abstract.

BMP, GIF, JPG, and PNG formatted graphic files can be uploaded during abstract submission.

You can edit your abstract (even after paying the submission fee) until the deadline of 15 October, 2024. After this deadline, abstracts cannot be edited.

Individuals in the early stages of their careers (whose professional training was completed six or less years ago) and trainees (including medical students) are eligible to submit and present case reports. Visit our Early Career Clinical Case Reports page for more information.

Confirmation emails are not sent automatically, but you can request an email confirmation of your submission by clicking the provided link after your submission is marked COMPLETE.

The person designated as the Presenting Author will receive a status notification of acceptance or rejection by 13 December. It is their responsibility to notify all co-authors of the submission’s outcome.

Presenting Authors of accepted abstracts must register for and attend the meeting in person.

If your abstract is accepted, the Presenting Author will receive a presentation invitation on 3 January, 2025 at which time they have until 31 January to confirm or withdraw the presentation.

Yes, ISHLT will be offering Travel Grants to attend the ISHLT2025 Annual Meeting. Additional information will be added to the website as it becomes available.
