Call for Abstracts
Submitted abstracts can be edited until the deadline.
On
behalf of Christian Benden, MD, MBA, FCCP, President of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, the ISHLT Board of Directors, and the ISHLT2025 Scientific Program Committee, I am honored to invite you to submit your research
to be shared with peers at the Society’s 45th Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions. Join us from 27-30 April, 2025 at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center in Boston, MA USA.
The ISHLT welcomes submissions from all specialists engaged in treating advanced heart and lung disease, with a special interest in novel therapies. ISHLT2025 will showcase pioneering investigative studies aimed at enhancing our knowledge and improving
patient care.
We strongly encourage early career trainees and young investigators to submit their work. Outstanding submissions will be highlighted in the Philip K. Caves Award and Early Career Scientist Award competitions and featured as oral presentations and
posters.
Additionally, we seek submissions of late-breaking clinical trials, which are vital to our Annual Meeting due to their significant impact and the engaging dialogue they inspire.

Submission Areas
We invite you to submit your abstract in one of the following three areas. Click on the area for detailed information including size limitations and what to expect on the submission site, as these details vary for each area.
An abstract can be submitted only once. Submitting the same abstract to different areas or splitting one study into multiple abstracts is not allowed. If the abstracts are too similar to be considered separate studies or if the same abstract is submitted to multiple areas or categories, all versions may be rejected.
Publication in the Journal
All accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted in the April 2025 Abstract Supplement of The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
Notification of Acceptance or Rejection
On 13 December, Presenting Authors of submitted abstracts will receive a status notification of acceptance or rejection. It is their responsibility to inform all co-authors of the submission’s outcome.
Invitation to Present at ISHLT2025
On 3 January, 2025, Presenting Authors of accepted abstracts will receive a presentation invitation including presentation date, session assignment, and presentation format. They will have until 31 January, 2025 to confirm or withdraw the presentation, or to change the presenting author to another co-author listed on the abstract. The Presenting Author must register for and attend the Annual Meeting in person.
