This edition of the ISHLT Guidelines for the Care of Heart Transplant Recipients was developed as an update to the 2010 Guidelines to reflect advances made in the last 10+ years and to identify remaining gaps, with the goal of guiding programs in the care of heart transplant recipients and encouraging further research to close these gaps.

The document results from the work of four Task Force groups, co-chaired by members of the Cardiology, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Nursing and Pharmacy Professional Communities from around the globe who lent their expertise to the following subject areas:
