Headshot of Jenn MonninThe International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) has announced Jenn Monnin, MLIS, as the new Research & Publications Librarian supporting the Society’s Standards & Guidelines program.

ISHLT's Standards & Guidelines are integral to advancing the care of patients with advanced heart and lung diseases, shaping clinical practices through rigorous evidence-based recommendations for transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and innovative therapies. Over the years, ISHLT has published numerous influential standards and guidelines, several of which rank among the most cited resources in the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation (JHLT).

Jenn will provide essential support to ISHLT's volunteer writing groups, enhancing their capacity to develop timely and authoritative documents. Her role will include advising on best practices and methodologies, conducting comprehensive literature reviews, and collaborating closely with project leaders to ensure the robustness of every guideline developed.

Jenn brings significant experience from her current role as Research Support and Engagement Librarian at West Virginia University’s Health Sciences Library, where she provides expert research assistance across multiple health science disciplines. Active in the Medical Library Association and dedicated to evidence synthesis methodologies, Jenn is well-equipped to elevate ISHLT’s document development processes.

“The addition of a dedicated librarian underscores ISHLT’s ongoing commitment to clinical excellence and the dissemination of high-quality, impactful guidelines,” said ISHLT Standards & Guidelines Chair Sern Lim, MD, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust.
