Give Back at ISHLT2024
ISHLT is excited to host a Sock Drive at ISHLT2024 to support Místní Místním (Locals for Locals) and its commitment to offer free, small services to homeless people and anyone who finds themselves in need.
The number of people without homes and in need is growing in many EU countries including the Czech Republic. There are approximately 270,000 people without homes or are in a housing emergency in the Czech Republic. In Prague, those in need find most support only through professional social services. Místní Místním builds a solidarity network of shopkeepers and places where anyone in need can access essential services. Místní Místním also involves the general public to make neighborhoods more socially friendly and overcome barriers between people.
The sock donations collected at the Annual Meeting will go directly to those in need in Prague through Místní Místním’s solidarity network or the streetwork program of Naděje. To learn more about Místní Místním, visit mistnimistnim.cz/.
