JHLT Earns Number One Ranking in Transplantation Journals
Sixth Year as Top Journal for JHLT
ADDISON, TX – 4 August, 2020 – For the sixth year in a row, The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation’s Impact Factor earned the publication the number one ranking in the transplantation category. In addition, the Journal also ranked number four in Surgery, number seven in Respiratory and number 13 in the highly competitive Cardiovascular category.

JHLT is the official publication of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT). ISHLT is the only international interdisciplinary organization focused on interventions for advanced heart and lung disease, including transplantation.
The Impact Factor is published in the annual Journal Citation Reports (JCR). The calculation is determined by the number of 2019 citations accumulated for JHLT manuscripts published in the previous two years.
JHLT’s overall impact factor was 7.865 and the Immediacy index, a measure of how much attention papers get shortly after publication and citation, has increased substantially to 2.3.
In 2019, JHLT had 12,465 citations which is a 42 percent increase from 2015. In addition, the article Influence score, a measure of how much attention a paper published in the JHLT would acquire when normalized for categories, has risen to 2.906.
