Kathleen L. Grady, PhD, MS, RN, FAAN is a Professor of Surgery and Medicine in the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University and the Administrative Director of the Center for Heart Failure within the Bluhm Cardiovascular Institute of Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, IL.
Dr. Grady’s clinical and research areas of interest are advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, health-related quality of life, psychosocial outcomes, patient self-care, patient adherence with therapeutic regimens, patient decision-making, and caregiver burden. Dr. Grady’s research on health-related quality of life outcomes after heart transplantation and mechanical circulatory support has been funded by the American Heart Association and National Institutes of Health. She has published 130 articles and 10 book chapters. Dr. Grady is currently chair of the ISHLT Grants & Awards Committee and a member of the ISHLT Board of Directors.
