7th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension
29 June to 1 July, 2024
We are pleased to inform you that the next 7th World Symposium on Pulmonary Hypertension (7th WSPH) will take place in Barcelona, Spain, from Saturday June 29th to Monday July 1st 2024.
Traditionally, the PH World Symposia series, initiated in Geneva in 1973 and held every 5 years after the Evian edition in 1998 (Venice 2003, Dana Point 2008, Nice 2013, Nice 2018), has marked the progress in pulmonary hypertension science and has identified fruitful directions for future developments. The published supplements, including the symposia proceedings, constitute a collection of articles among the most cited in this scientific area.
Each new edition of the WSPH series has experienced an increase in attendance, signifying the growing interest of this field’s stakeholders. More than 1200 international physicians, scientists and other health care workers attended the 5th WSPH – Nice 2013, and more than 1500 attended the 6thWSPH – Nice 2018.
The objectives of the 7th WSPH will be as follows:
- Review by expert task forces of the major advances in pulmonary vascular science over the past 6 years
- Analysis of the available evidence in basic and clinical areas
- Identification of the evidence gaps in different areas, and proposals for future collaborative research programs
- Production of documents by the task forces that summarize the results of pre-symposium meetings (previous 18-24 months)
- Discussion at the symposium sessions by the task forces of documents, along with worldwide experts and with other stakeholders
- Final drafting of peer reviewed papers that will be included in a supplement in a prestigious medical journal to facilitate the dissemination of the 7th WSPH work.
