Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Workshop: Transforming Transplantation: Building Paths to Equitable Care and Outcomes
9 April, 2024 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. CEST
Presented by the ISHLT Foundation and supported by Thermo Fisher Scientific
This interactive workshop will explore the factors that influence and interfere with equitable access to transplantation and post transplantation care for patients. Transplant team members will learn about historical and present forms of systemic bias and structural racism that influence the organ transplantation process. Robust evidence from multi-disciplinary research studies will be provided for multiple organs and countries. Through active discussions and presentations, a panel of experts will introduce and explain tools that practitioners can utilize to recognize and address these systemic issues. Participants will gain insights into how to advocate for patients and help empower patients to choose treatment strategies throughout their transplant journey.
Separate registration is required to attend the workshop.
