2023 ISHLT Academy Master Class in Pediatric Mechanical Circulatory Support

The Pediatrics MCS Master Class will be focused on the use of mechanical circulatory support in pediatric scenarios. Children who require MCS represent a unique population with many different challenges (small size with a lack of devices scaled to size, common use in “failed” palliation of congenital heart defects, difficulties around anticoagulation) than adults who require MCS. Participants will be able to discuss and share best practices for device and patient selection. In addition, there will be discussion regarding the complications that can occur and the best ways to prevent and treat them.
