When
you get on site, your first order of business should be to pick up your badge. You’ll need this badge to access educational sessions, the exhibit area, and any ISHLT2024 event.
To get your badge, enter the Prague Congress Centre through entrance #2 or #3 and follow the signs to proceed to the Registration Desk located on the ground floor.

The
Opening General Session will feature reports from ISHLT2024 Program Chair, Göran Dellgren, MD, PhD, and ISHLT President, Jason Christie, MD, MS. A group of medical professionals from the Heart Institute of the Ministry of Health
in Kiev, Ukraine will present an important discussion on overcoming obstacles to continue to provide heart and lung transplantation during times of war and what can be done going forward to continue to support transplantation efforts worldwide.
Additional seating will be available in the Congress Hall balcony, accessible on Floor 4.
ORAL SESSION 02: PHILIP K. CAVES CANDIDATE AWARD PRESENTATIONS
3:00 – 4:15 p.m. | Forum Hall, Floor 2
Established in 1982, the Philip K. Caves Award encourages and rewards original high-quality research performed by residents, fellows, trainees, and graduate students. The award is bestowed annually on the candidate whose oral presentation is judged to be the best of those selected for the Caves Award Session at the Annual Scientific Meeting. Five finalists will present their research in this session and the winner will be announced during General Session III on Saturday, 13 April.

Heart failure prevalence is higher in Latin America in comparison to other continents. Paradoxically, heart transplant centers are underdeveloped even in countries with established transplant programs. Latin American culture and economy pose unique challenges requiring tailored solutions. This session will address these issues through a series of presentations and a Q&A. This session will be conducted entirely in English to encourage participation by everyone. CME is not offered for this session.

We will be hosting a networking event at 7am on Wednesday 10th April, where breakfast will be available to members of ICCAC and also to those non-members who are seeking to learn more about ICCAC and look to join. We will have Amanda Thomas our current President who will give you insight into the benefits ICCAC can provide. Thomas Schloglhofer will also be giving an insight into the ICCAC exchange award and how he applied and the benefit this will have on his practice.
