ISHLT Welcomes Joanne Singletary, CAE, as Membership Manager

ISHLT is pleased to welcome Joanne Singletary, CAE, as full-time Membership Manager, as of 17 July. In this new position, Joanne will develop, manage, and measure programs for membership retention and new member recruitment, and assess existing and new programs and benefits in order to meet the evolving needs of members. 

Joanne has 15 years of experience in multiple areas of nonprofit management, most recently as Membership and Communications Manager with the Atlanta Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). Prior to that, she served as Membership and Education Director for the Georgia Dental Association. At SHRM, Joanne led committees and was part of the leadership team that developed a strategic plan, leading to the implementation of a new organizational structure. She used a “members first” lens to evaluate member data and remove roadblocks to membership by updating the join/renewal process and focusing on benefit utilization. She also analyzed trends in membership and engagement, allowing SHRM to assemble targeted data and understand the needs and goals of members. 

At the Georgia Dental Association, Joanne collaborated with the membership committee and communications team to build and implement renewal and retention plans to improve member retention and new member acquisition. She also created an outreach program for dental students and residents. Joanne lives in Chattanooga.
