Dr. Manreet Kanwar, MD, Named to ISHLT Board of Directors
Addison, Texas – June 5, 2018 – Dr. Manreet Kanwar, Cardiologist at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Penn.,has been named to the Board of Directors of the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT).
The ISHLT is the world’s largest multidisciplinary, professional organization dedicated to improving the care of patients with advanced heart or luhr.ng disease through transplantation, mechanical support and innovative therapies.
Dr. Kanwar graduated from the Gov't Med College, Patiala, Punjab, India in 2002. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine (2004-2007) and fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases (2007-2010) from St John Hospital and Medical Center, Detroit, MI. She moved to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA in 2010 for her fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and stayed on as faculty at Allegheny Health Network since then.
Dr. Kanwar is currently the Medical Director of the Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) Program at AGH and has clinical expertise in heart failure, mechanical circulatory support, pulmonary hypertension and cardiac transplantation. Her research interests include risk stratification in pulmonary hypertension, CTEPH and left ventricular assist devices. Dr. Kanwar has been a member of ISHLT since 2010.
