Kathleen Grady Named to ISHLT Board of Directors


 
Addison, Texas –June 5, 2018 – Kathleen L. Grady, PhD, RN, MS, FAAN, Professor of Surgery and Medicine at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine,has been named to the Board of Directors of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT). 
 
“I am delighted and deeply honored to be appointed to the ISHLT Board of Directors.  It is an incredible organization with a long history of accomplishments that contribute to enhancing the lives of patients in the advanced stages of heart and lung disease,” said Grady, who has been a member of ISHLT since 1983. 
 
The ISHLT is a multidisciplinary, professional organization dedicated to improving the care of patients with advanced heart or lung disease through transplantation, mechanical support and innovative therapies. With more than 3,000 members in more than 45 countries, ISHLT is the world’s largest organization dedicated to the research, education and advocacy of end-stage heart and lung disease. 
 
Grady’s areas of interest include health-related quality of life, advanced heart failure, heart transplantation, ventricular assist devices, adherence, and psychosocial outcomes, among others.
 
She received her Ph.D. from Loyola University’s Niehoff School of Nursing in 1993.
