The Ongoing Challenges of CTEPH

Wednesday, 23 February, 2022

The last decade has witnessed a global expansion in the diagnosis and management of patients with chronic thromboembolic disease. This has been fueled by a number of new treatment modalities which have shown considerable promise, particularly in inoperable CTEPH patients. This webinar, presented by leading experts in the field, will address some of the most frequently asked questions by clinicians providing care to this unique patient group.

Developing an Award-Winning Research Project: ISHLT2021 Scientific Abstract Award Winners (HEART, MCS, PVD)

Wednesday, 27 October, 2021

This webinar will highlight six Scientific Abstract Award winners from research topics in heart failure and transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, and pulmonary vascular disease. Brief presentations by each presenting author will be followed by an interactive Q&A discussion focusing on the research process and how to develop a great presentation once an abstract has been accepted. The session is geared toward novice researchers and those interested in improving their chances of having their abstract considered for a scientific abstract award.

Under Pressure: PH Management in End Stage Cardiopulmonary Diseases

Wednesday, 29 September, 2021

This webinar will focus on the management of advanced pulmonary hypertension in patients who are candidates for transplantation. How to safely bring these high risk patients at bay is a daily challenge for multidisciplinary teams. Leading experts in the field will share their thoughts and participate in a lively discussion with the ISHLT community.

All Mod Cons: RHC Pearls and Gems in Pulmonary Hypertension

Wednesday, 26 May, 2021

Right heart catheterization is the gold standard for the assessment of pulmonary hypertension. It is critical at different steps in the differential diagnosis and the distinction between post and pre capillary PH. It also provides insights on outcome and is an important guide for treatment decisions in pulmonary vascular diseases (PAH and CTEPH) and in advanced heart failure (MCS and HTX). Although widely used in clinical practice, RHC requires specific knowledge both in data collection and interpretation of results.

This webinar will cover some challenging situations illustrating the importance of invasive hemodynamic assessment in advances cardiac and respiratory conditions.

Segmental and Subsegmental Disease in CTEPH: Misconception and Missed Opportunities

Wednesday, 28 October, 2020

Developed from ISHLT2020 SESSION 34 (SYMPOSIUM)

This symposium will specifically focus on segmental and subsegmental disease in CTEPH. The management of segmental and subsegmental disease has evolved over the past decade. Pulmonary endarterectomy and balloon pulmonary angioplasty have been shown to be excellent therapeutic options for these patients. However, both options have not yet been widely adopted due to technical challenges.
