Re-perfusing the lungs of an organ donor after the heart has irreversibly stopped beating with a technique called normothermic regional perfusion (TA-NRP) could potentially increase the number of patients receiving lung transplants, according to researchers at the Annual Meeting and Scientific Sessions of the International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT) in Prague.

Kyiv’s Heart Institute Keeps Transplanting Hearts Despite War10 April 2024

ISHLT Formalizes ISHLT en Español Steering Committee19 March 2024
In January the Board of Directors approved a charter to formalize the ISHLT en Español, including a steering committee, with representatives from ISHLT’s ten Professional Communities, representation on the ISHLT Interdisciplinary Network Steering Committees, and a representative to the ISHLT Leadership Advisory Forum. Paola Morejón Barragán, MD of Clínica Guayaquil Servicios Médicos S.A. in Guayaquil, Ecuador, will serve as the inaugural chair, and Maria Crespo, MD of Penn Lung Transplant Program in Philadelphia, will serve as the vice chair.
