ISHLT Monograph Series The ISHLT Monograph Series is an annual hardcover publication of the Society that provides in-depth coverage of the current state of knowledge of a specific topic relevant to heart and lung transplantation and/or end stage heart and lung disease. Volume 1 of the series was published in September 2006 and is entitled Mechanical Circulatory Support, edited by O. H. Frazier, MD and James K. Kirklin, MD. Volume 2 of the series was published in April 2008 and is entitled Pediatric Heart Transplantation, edited by Charles E, Canter, MD and James K. Kirklin, MD. Volume 3 (Part 1 & Part 2) of the series was published in February 2009 and is entitled Advanced Heart Failure, edited by James K. Kirklin, MD, Nicholas R. Banner, FRCP, FESC, and Mariell Jessup, MD, FAHA, FACC, FESC. Volume 4, entitled History of International Heart and Lung Transplantation, edited by James K. Kirklin, MD, Mandeep Mehra, MD, and Lori J. West, MD, PhD, was published in March 2010 and is now available. The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation (JHLT) is the monthly scientific publication of the Society and is a forum that includes basic science, the failing heart, and advanced lung disease. A subscription to the JHLT is included with all memberships. The JHLT is included in the MEDLINE/PubMed and other major abstracting/indexing services. It has a manuscript acceptance rate of approximately 42% and the average manuscript review time is 112 days. With a 2007 impact factor of 3.087, the JHLT ranks 8th out of the 20 Transplantation journals, 18th out of 74 Cardiac and Cardiovascular Systems journals, and 10th out of 34 Respiratory System journals, according to the Journal Citation Reports, published by Thomson Scientific.
