Submitted abstracts can be edited until the deadline.
Who can submit a case report?
Individuals in the early stages of their careers (whose professional training was completed five or less years ago) and trainees (including medical students) are eligible to submit case reports.
Format
A case report must include the following information (limited to 2,140 characters, not including spaces):
- Title
- Introduction
- Case Report
- Summary
Note: abstracts undergo a blind review process; therefore, abstain from using institution names within the case report. If accepted, you may update your presentation accordingly.
Authors
The Full Name, Affiliation, Email Address, and Disclosure Statement for the Presenting Author and each co-author must be included. There is no limit to the number of authors, and author information is not counted towards the character limit.
The
Submitting Author is responsible for notifying all named co-authors that they will be listed as a co-author on a submitted abstract.
The
Presenting Author will be the only author to receive notification of acceptance/rejection of a submitted abstract; therefore, it is the Presenting Author's responsibility to notify all co-authors regarding the outcome of an abstract submission.
Submission Categories
You may submit a case report into
only one of the below categories.
Submission of the same case report into different categories is not permitted. Submission of one study as several different case reports is not permitted. If the case reports in question are not different enough to be considered separate studies, or if the same case report is submitted into multiple categories, all versions may be rejected.

Pulmonary Vascular Disease (PVD):
- PVD–Early Career Clinical Case Reports
All submitted Case Reports submitted are automatically considered for the
Early Career and Trainees Clinical Case Dilemmas Best Presentation Award. The top four case reports meeting the eligibility requirements will be selected for
oral presentation in the award session. All other accepted case reports will be selected for
poster presentation.
Publication
All accepted Case Reports will be published
exactly as submitted in the online version of the April 2022 Supplement of the
Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation.
